The Facnor
mainsail reefing system allows you to sail in complete comfort and total
security. It marks the end of struggling to reef in rough seas. In one
simple operation you will have the sail adjusted to the wind force. Once
back in harbour no more folding or flaking the mainsail.
The great reliability of this system comes from the furling mechanism
itself which is a unique line drive positioned just above the gooseneck.
(Facnor patent).
This
system is easy to fit and remove. This extremely strong but simple method
of fitting requires no alteration to the mast or gooseneck, no need to
unstep the mast and no holes are drilled, fits all types of masts.
The housing sections are fixed to the mast track with aluminium sliders
which fit into the sail groove. With this simple method of fitting the
mainsail furler can be fitted in a very short time. The
housing sections are joined by locating 2 or 3 pins which ensures perfect
alignment.
The sections have been designed to avoid damage to the mainsail and the
edges of the housing incorporate a round groove to avoid chafe.
The drive unit is turned by means of a large rotating aluminium clam cleat
with 2 stainless steel ball bearings. It is fixed to the mast by two sliders
above the gooseneck. Included with the mainsail reefing system is a standard
boom kit which consists of a recirculating ball car and a length of track
plus fixings.
Your yacht
will always be prepared to leave its berth, sails ready.
